MagnaFlow Vintage 2.5 Challenge
The Second Race of the Series in Las Vegasis just a few weeks away. This should be another great race weekend and it looks as if the turnout will be as large, if not larger than the Willow Springs race. As with the first race, VSRG will have a booth and will provide refreshments to our members after the last race (for our group) on Saturday. If you are planning to enter this race you should mail your entries right away to avoid the late charge. If you do not have an entry form please contact HSR-West by calling 310-530-9731.
Please note that the published waiver of the late charge in our last newsletter only applied to the first race of the series at Willow Springs.
The Enduro information that appears in the HRS-West entry form seems to indicate that VSRG and the Magnaflow Vintage 2.5 Challenge are officially part of the Enduro. This is not the case and as of this date we are not officially participating in the Enduro. This is because there is no assurance that all 2.5 cars that are allowed to enter the Enduro will be required to follow the 2.5 rules therefore our members might be at a competitive disadvantage. However if you are interested in running the Enduro then by all means add it to your entry form as it should be lots of fun and a great chance to mix it up with the Under 2 Porsches.
As with Willow Springs, there is a nominal $10 per person gate fee to enter the track as a spectator but that covers both days.
Laguna Seca seems to be on everyone's mind for September 22-23 however we want everyone to be aware that there will be limited number of entries accepted for this race. A run-group limit has been imposed by the Laguna Seca on all club events in an effort to reduce noise. Because of the low limit we have developed three priority designations, one of which will be assigned to each entry. The highest priority will go to those drivers that have earned finish position points in the series. The second level will be based on the number of series races entered and the final will be a first-come, first-serve basis (date the entry was received).
This event will run with HMSA rather than HSR-West and this is the only event this year where the entry forms will be mailed by and returned to VSRG. We will only be able to accept checks for the entry fee however checks will not be deposited until we have confirmed your accepted entry with you. If your entry does not make the field or if you elect not to confirm your entry, your payment will be returned promptly. The entry form will have all the details.
To submit an entry for this race you must use a VSRG supplied entry form that will be mailed to all members well before the race. Please do not submit an entry directly to HMSA as they will place you in a different group and it is very unlikely that you would be able to switch to our group since we will have a full field.
By Now most everyone has probably read or heard about the success of the first race of the series. If not, drop by the web site (www.bsedan.com), VSRG link, and check out the new "Results" link. We will be posting more photos and possibly video in the next few weeks. Look for coverage of the race and the series in Vintage Racecar Journal, Victory Lane Magazine, European Car and Sports Compact Car Magazine.
The tech session went quite well and all cars were above their minimum weight. There were a few warnings issued regarding non-vintage correct components and one disqualification due to illegal tires but for the most part all of the cars were found to be reasonably correct.
As a reminder to all drivers, you must display a Magnaflow windshield sticker across the top of your windshield. Stickers can be obtained at the VSRG booth at each race.
The "Against All Odds" Video is available once again but only for a limited time. This hard to find short video (about 30 minutes) was produced by Datsun about the BRE team and the 2.5 Challenge series and shows some great racing action. If you would like one of these, e-mail Josh Hale at datsun510dude@hotmail.com. The video is priced at $15.00, which includes shipping within the U.S.
2.5's at the Historics? This rumor has been floating around for quite sometime however there does seem to be a great deal of substance to it. Watch the BSedan.com News page for confirmation as we understand that invitations will be going out to original series cars very soon.

The VSRG Photo Page has moved into the top 5
of pages viewed on the BSedan.Com and VSRG web sites. This is really quite
amazing that so much interest has been shown in the photo section in the
first full month that it was on-line. We only have a few photos so
we are asking again for car & driver photos as well as car and driver
profiles and we would like a lot more.
To save you some duplication of effort, we will forward
your information and images to MagnaFlow for the free product requirements
(above). We can accept any common graphic image format if you already
have scanned or digital images available. Please send your photos as an
attachment to an e-mail
if possible. Regular photos can be mailed to us however unless you
send a stamped return envelope we will not be able to return them.
Driver Profiles are still needed. We
ask that you e-mail us your
information. None of this is required and you may elect not to submit any
information or omit anything you do not wish to be published.

FIA Homologation and SCCA Recognition Forms
are almost if not completely impossible to find. We are in the process of
adding a new section to the BSedan.Com website that will contain scanned copies
of SCCA Recognition Forms and FIA Homologation Forms so that we can preserve
this important part of our racing history. We ask that anyone with such a
form for any B-Sedan car (1966 through 1972) please e-mail, fax or snail-mail
us a copy so that we can share it with other enthusiast. The Contacts page contains all of our
address info.
