A new Vintage racing organization has been formed to promote
vintage Trans-AM 2.5 Challenge series cars.
The Vintage Sedan Racers Group, or VSRG, is made up of vintage race drivers, car owners, car builders and
enthusiast working together to bring back the excitement of Trans-AM 2.5
battles to vintage racing. The purpose
of this organization is to provide a quality vintage racing experience for
drivers of Vintage Trans-Am 2.5 and B-Sedan cars in the featured race group in
events held at renown tracks and premier racing events.
VSRG plans to promote a new Vintage 2.5 Challenge race series that will be based on the highly successful 1971-72 SCCA Trans-AM 2.5 Challenge. The original series featured under 2.5 liter sedans such as Alfa Romeo, BMW and Datsun. The 2.5 Challenge was noted for it’s close, exciting competition and proved to be the high point of the 1972 Trans-Am season when the large bore portion of the series that featured Mustang's and Camaro's was cancelled.
The group was
founded by vintage racers Kevin McKee, Fred Schueddekopp and
Jim McAdory. VSRG maintains an official
web site at www.bsedan.com, which contains the latest
information on the organization as well as member signup. Membership is free and open to anyone.
